The IAD4AD 2026 campaign has been successfully completed!
During the IAD4AD Month in March, more than 30 events were held around the world, all aimed at reducing avoidable deaths. New ADN chapters were launched in Taiwan and India, and a collaborative podcast series was conducted in partnership with the International Society for Integrated Disaster Risk Management.
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who joined us in celebrating IAD4AD.
This year’s Highlights Report will soon be available on our Resources page.
The Avoidable Deaths Network designated March 12 as the International Awareness Day for Avoidable Deaths (IAD4AD) in 2023. Since then, we have been working with global partners every March to raise awareness and mobilize action to reduce avoidable deaths.
For IAD4AD 2026, regional coordinators and partner organizations around the world are actively preparing events and activities. As plans are confirmed, event details will be added to this page on a rolling basis.
We warmly invite you to follow these updates, join events in your region or beyond, and take part in the global conversation on preventing avoidable deaths. Whether you are a researcher, practitioner, policymaker, student, or community member, your participation matters.
If you are interested in organizing or joining IAD4AD activities in 2026, please feel free to contact us at contact@avoidable-deaths.net. We look forward to celebrating IAD4AD together and strengthening our shared commitment to reducing avoidable deaths worldwide.
If you have any questions about the global campaign, please refer to our FAQ page or feel free to contact us.
Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Framework for the Global Campaign
The Avoidable Deaths Network has prepared a guidance document on the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Framework for event hosts. This framework is aligned with ADN’s 10-year global campaign (2023–2033) and is intended to help ensure that individual events contribute to shared learning and collective impact. All individuals and organisations planning to host an IAD4AD event in 2026 are requested to review and refer to this MEL framework when planning and implementing their activities.
The guidance document is available on cultural assets page. We kindly ask all event hosts to ensure that they consult it in advance.
