Join us on Sunday 31 March 2024 to celebrate International Awareness Day for Avoidable Deaths (IAD4AD) with the Poets for Avoidable Deaths.
Led by ADN Advisory Board Member, Ms. Patience Fyne Andrew (Custodians for African Literature) and ADN Founding President and Convenor, Dr. Nibedita Ray-Bennett (ADN), the webinar will feature inspiring poets from Nigeria and Zambia and their work on avoidable deaths.
The webinar will start at 15:00 BST/ WAT/ GMT+1 in the UK and Nigeria, and 16:00 CAT/GMT+2 in Zambia.
The global campaign aims to raise the visibility of indirect disaster deaths and missing persons and promote the slogan Disaster Deaths Are Avoidable. We celebrate this campaign annually and encourage individuals, frontline workers, communities, institutions and civil society organisations worldwide to do the same to reduce avoidable disaster deaths.
