Description
Kenya faces a significant public health burden due to venomous snakebites, which culminate in many preventable deaths. Health facilities remain unprepared to handle snakebites, antivenoms are scarce, and patients must often pay out of pocket to receive care. I spent 6 weeks visiting key snakebite stakeholders across the country, and hope to mark 2025 IAD4AD with a discussion for the current landscape of snakebite in Kenya. This is an opportunity to share what I’ve learned, and bring together local and international experts to discuss this issue.
